BRADENTON, Fla. – Senior Destinee Williams of the Shaw University women's outdoor track and field team closed out her collegiate track and field career on Saturday, May 27, placing eighth overall in the 100-meter hurdles preliminaries at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.
Williams finished the event with a time of 13.74 for the nation's eighth fastest time while also grabbing an All-American honor. In addition, Williams became the first All-American from Shaw on the women's side since Latasha McCoy whom finished eighth in the 100-meter hurdles in 2002 for outdoor track.
The Leesburg, Fla., native now holds the school record in the 100-meter dash (13.74) and will look to continue her career professionally.
