SHAW’S DESTINEE WILLIAMS TO COMPETE AT NCAA OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

RALEIGH, NCDestinee Williams of the Shaw University women's outdoor track and field team will compete in the 2017 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships on May 25-27 in Bradenton, Fla., at the IMG Academy.

Recently, Williams was named to the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region Team last week.

The Leesburg, Fla., native will compete in the 100-meter hurdles after lowering her preliminary time with a 13.74 in the event which now ranks her nation's 12th-fastest time in the event and a school's record. This will be the first time since 2002 that a Shaw athlete will compete in nationals for outdoor.
