WOMEN’S TENNIS HOST ELIZABETH CITY STATE FOR SENIOR DAY IN REGULAR SEASON FINALE

RALEIGH, N.C. – Shaw University women's tennis team will close out the regular season with a home match against Elizabeth City State University for Senior Day on Monday, Apr. 16 at 1 p.m. First serve is slated for 1 p.m.

The Lady Bears will recognize three seniors, Daniela Vanko (Quebec, Montreal), Marilyne Kamegne (Yaoundé, Cameroon) and Simbiat Aleem (Lagos, Nigeria) prior to the start of the match.

Shaw (17-2, 11-0 CIAA) will look to go undefeated in conference play against the Lady Vikings whom holds a record of 2-7 overall and in the league. The Lady Bears swept their division opponents, winning its 10th-consecutive Southern Division earlier this season.

The Lady Bears are coming off a 7-2 setback, their first since the beginning of the season at Catawba last Thursday. The loss also snapped a 16-match win-streak for SU.

Following Monday's regular season finale, the Lady Bears will look to defend its title at the 2018 CIAA Women's Tennis Championship in Bowie, Md., Apr. 19-21.
