RALEIGH, N.C. – Shaw University women's bowling posted a 4-11 record at the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Round-Up hosted by Saint Augustine's University this weekend. The Lady Bears went 0-5 during Sunday's Bakers Match but earned four wins during day one and day two's competition that included victories over Elizabeth City State and Chowan twice.
Shaw finished the event with a pinfall total of 9,564, including 3,204 Baker total pins. Junior Kiana Rogers (Fort Atkinson, WI) averaged a team-high 158.00 while freshman Necarri Moore (Portsmouth, VA) bowled an average of 145.20 during the weekend.
Fayetteville State claimed first place overall, going 14-1 overall while Virginia Union (13-2) and Virginia State (12-3) went second and third, respectively.
The Lady Bears have next week off from competition before returning to the lanes in Murfreesboro, N.C. for the CIAA Event III hosted by Chowan University on Mar. 9-11.
