RALEIGH, NC – Jolisa Williams, Sports Information Director at Shaw University, has been selected as a recipient of the 2017 NCAA Division II Women Leaders National Convention grant by Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association Conference (CIAA) Commissioner, Jacqie McWilliams.
As the recipient of the grant, Williams will be attending the 2017 Women Leaders National Convention in Dallas, Texas on Oct. 8-10. The National Convention is the premier conference for women working in intercollegiate athletics, offering unparalleled leadership and professional development, industry training, and networking opportunities.
Recently, Williams was named the 2017 John Holley Sports Information Director of the Year. She is entering her third year at Shaw and will serve as a member of the CIAA Management Council. She was appointed to her management council seat after being elected president of the CIAA Sports Information Directors Association (CIAA-SIDA).
A native of Charles City, Va., Williams graduated from Saint Augustine's in 2012 with a bachelor's in Sport Management. She earned a master's also in Sport Management from Virginia State in 2014. Williams is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Education in Athletic Administration from North Central.
Williams is a member of College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and Black College Sports Information Directors Association (BC-SIDA).
